The Spotline Insights on Project Management Excellence are a series of articles targeted at Life Sciences individuals like yourself. They are crystallized from decades of experience of our senior principals who led and managed complex projects across leading Life Sciences companies such as Abbvie, Amgen, Allergan, GSK, and Gilead Sciences before joining Spotline.

Early evidence of project management is seen in the Egyptian era. Modern project management practices were first recorded in the US Navy in the 1950s for its Polaris project and soon replicated in other US federal units such as the Department of Defense and NASA. Today all corporations include project management as an irreplaceable tool for any work involving people, teams, or business lines. While industry bodies such as Project Management Institute promote the practice, relatively little is specifically geared towards the Life Sciences enterprises.

The objective of our Insight series is to equip you with useful knowledge to be successful in your Life Science projects. It is important for three reasons: The Covid Pandemic has permanently changed the way corporate employees work and collaborate. Second, the acceleration of collaboration technologies has significantly boosted our ability to effectively collaborate. Finally, changing federal regulations, an increasingly global workforce, more joint ventures, and outsourcing functions to specialty firms (CRO, labs, etc.) have necessitated collaboration across corporate boundaries.

Leveraged right, these Insights will be a source of competitive advantage via operational excellence across specific business lines. Our series of posts will include the following topics:

  • Leveraging Microsoft Teams for IT projects

  • Managing Merger and Acquisition projects in the Life Sciences industry

  • Regulated Systems Implementation projects.

  • Software as a Service (SaaS) Solution Evaluation and Selection project

  • Software as a Service Implementation project

  • Power of Microsoft Teams in Drug Development (and Medical Device) projects

  • Solution life-cycle management including Total Cost of Ownership estimation.
